Sotheby’s, Christie’s and Phillips are busy securing auction consignments for the May 2015 and November 2015 auction sales. Should any consignor wish to arrange an advance on a sale of an individual work or an entire collection, ArtAssure stands ready to provide competitive financing at the following rates and terms:
- 50% loan to value of the collection’s auction estimate
- 10% – 15% interest per annum for collections valued at or above $500,000
- 6 months minimum term
The art finance industry is plagued by high interest rates and unreliable lenders. We relish the opportunity to provide the most transparent and competitive financial services to art market participants. For loan inquiries, please email email@example.com or call +212-288-8860.
As we come out of the May season it is evident that auction, especially for premium auctionable art, is the most obvious and, often, the most successful sale venue. As this fact becomes more apparent, it is also apparent that there are just so many slots available to sellers. Even when space is available will it be the placement that reflects the quality of the art works?
ArtAssure specializes in representing and assisting sellers at auction and otherwise. We assist in gaining access to the primary auction houses, negotiating advantageous financial terms, arranging the best possible catalog placement, reviewing catalog entries, providing research backup, help shaping the marketing program for important works and assisting in molding a contract of sale that is appropriate for you.
We provide interim (bridge) financing for clients who wish to take an advance against an auction or private sale. Guarantees can be arranged for collections or individual works of art. All in all we can provide guidance in the placement of works of art to your advantage working towards the best prices with minimum transaction costs.
If the November auctions are a probability on the horizon for you, contact us now. The demand for space is accelerating. The urgency for early placement is greater than ever.

Each auction season the major auction houses are deluged with submissions earlier than the last, making it imperative to place even the highest quality artworks well in advance of upcoming auctions. If you are considering selling a work or collection of modern, impressionist, post-war, or contemporary art at Christie’s, Sotheby’s, Phillips, or Bonhams this Spring, now is the time to submit your works for estimates of value, negotiation, and ultimate sale.
Achieving the maximum value for your art can itself seem an art. ArtAssure offers the following services to the benefit of experienced collectors and first-time auction sellers alike:
Estimates of Value
We examine your work or collection and provide price estimates to give you an objective assessment of the potential return on your investment.
After valuing your collection, we determine which artworks will be best sold privately and which will be best sold at auction. For works placed at auction, we guide you to the ideal venue for your sale, based upon the house’s respective potential for achieving your goals.
Financial and Contractual Arrangements
We serve as your liaison to the auction house, advocating on your behalf to secure more beneficial sales terms than otherwise regularly received, including advantageous financial arrangements, stronger legal agreements, and a superior marketing effort.
Interim Financing and Guarantees
If desired, we can arrange financing in advance of your sale and/or derive a guarantee for the price for your work or collection, whether it is sold privately or at auction.
As part of our negotiations, we work to achieve the best marketing effort for your work or collection, including but not limited to catalogue placement, lot positioning, and advertising.
According to a recent New York Times article the New York Court of Appeals has decided to review a recent ruling that could force the state’s auction industry to end its longstanding practice of keeping sellers’ names anonymous. ArtAssure’s services provide total anonymity when selling privately or at auction.
Though these services complement each other, all may be tailored to your specific goals. We encourage you to contact us by telephone (212-288-8860) or email (firstname.lastname@example.org) with your inquiries.
AUCTION: OCTOBER 16, 2012 | VIEWING: OCTOBER 6-15, 2012 | HOURS: 10AM – 6PM | AUCTION AND VIEWING LOCATION: Phillips de Pury & Company, 450 Park Avenue, New York, NY 10022
New York – Phillips de Pury & Company is pleased to announce MOSS, an auction of art and design including works from the personal collection of Murray Moss and Franklin Getchell, founders of Moss, a beloved New York design institution. The auction, prefaced by a ten-day exhibition, will juxtapose contemporary and historical design with paintings, sculpture and photography. The assemblage was done in collaboration with ArtAssure Ltd.
In 1994 former fashion entrepreneur Murray Moss opened Moss, a small gallery in SoHo. Murray aimed to transform public perception through a careful selection and presentation of industrial design. The store quickly gained an international reputation for its product range which later expanded to include furniture, limited edition works, lighting, jewelry, and tableware. Clients ranged from design professionals to international collectors, students, and tourists with maps.
For eighteen years, through his celebrated installations and exhibitions, Murray Moss expanded the traditional definition of design by repeatedly illuminating what he referred to as “the Narrative” found in certain exceptional objects. By juxtaposing two or more disparate works, Murray aimed to create a ‘tertium quid’ (third thing) that makes the whole greater than the sum of its individual parts.
Moss Bureau, Moss and Getchell’s latest endeavor, continues the work of designer representation and exhibition, plus focused and curated design retail, and also offers design consulting and advisory, as well as curatorial, services, teaching and public speaking.
In October Murray will curate his own auction at Phillips de Pury & Company New York. The exhibition and auction will include important works by prominent contemporary designers including Maarten Baas, Hella Jongerius, Studio Job,Marcel Wanders, Fernando and Humberto Campana, Tokujin Yoshioka, Enzo Mari, and Alberto Meda, as well as master works by mid-century design master Gio Ponti and sculptor Leo Amino. Design icons will be paired in vignettes with sculpture and paintings by Frank Stella, Louise Nevelson, Alberto Giacometti, George Rickey,George Condo, and Candida Hofer, amongst others. “Phillips de Pury has given me a unique opportunity to take my ideas to another level – to break down barriers between art and design and to create dialogue between the various disciplines. After all, we live with juxtapositions of art and design in our homes, created intentionally or not, with little guidance given us as to how to approach the subject – the art – of montage. Traditionally cultural institutions and galleries and, indeed, auction houses, for the most part segregate art and design, departmentally and physically, eliminating the possibility of ‘tertium quid’ and this is our opportunity to create that experience.” Murray Moss, Partner, Moss.
“Moss, the auction, proposes a new paradigm and Phillips has provided an incredible venue to demonstrate the benefits. Being a design gallery, we never had the possibility at Moss to pair paintings and sculpture, couture and photography, with functional objects. Through this partnership we are afforded the incredible luxury of subjectively placing art in dialogue with design, and thereby compose nearly 100 visual and intellectual ‘fugues’.” Franklin Getchell, Partner, Moss.
“I am absolutely thrilled that Phillips de Pury is staging this very exciting sale! What Murray Moss and Franklin Getchell have done with their pioneering space in Soho has been invigorating and truly inspiring. We share their spirit and I can’t wait to work with them.” Simon de Pury, Chairman, Phillips de Pury & Company.
